Session 1: Tech Tools to Support Your Classroom Practice
Craig Nicholls, Melbourne Girls Grammar
Technology is often portrayed as a great time saver, but as you spend hours at your computer it can feel the opposite. This session aims to address this imbalance and look at how technology can save you time as a History teacher. In this workshop, we will investigate three different scenarios you deal with in your role and look at how technology can make your life easier. We will be looking at various tools available and the pedagogy behind using them in your practice.

Craig Nicholls is a passionate educator with over 25 years of classroom experience across the state and independent sectors. He has been a generalist primary teacher, P – 10 Digital Technologies specialist and a sessional lecturer as part of Charles Sturt University’s Master of Education program.

He is fluent in both techno-babble and eduspeak and is able to translate for those that need it. This is something he has continued in his role as Director of Digital Learning at Melbourne Girls Grammar.  Craig works with staff and students across the school to improve their digital capabilities and implement digital projects. He is passionate about ensuring that educators and students have the necessary digital skills to meet their potential.
